Uniting Our Community Through Meaningful Engagement

Challenge

At Quartz, our brand foundation reminds us that we believe in taking action today to be better prepared to take on the challenges of tomorrow. This means enabling not only our members, but everyone in the communities we serve to make the most of their lives—to create a life well-lived. We seek to ensure that all our marketing and community engagement efforts serve our mission of creating a future where well-living is within reach for all our neighbors.

In service to this mission, Quartz has established a community engagement strategy within our Marketing Department with three key pillars:

  1. Increase engagement and awareness in the communities we serve.

This first, simple pillar of our community engagement strategy is to increase our presence and engagement with the communities within our Quartz service areas—in alignment with our strategic goals for growth. This connection with our communities is what makes Quartz different from our competitors. We know what our members need because we’re here in their communities, working to make a difference.

  1. Improve health outcomes for our members and our communities.

As a health insurance company, Quartz has a strong interest in improving the health outcomes of our members. Through our community engagement strategy, we can extend these efforts to improving health outcomes for everyone in the communities we serve, driving towards a future where well-living is always within reach for all our neighbors. This pillar of our community engagement strategy is to support organizations, programs, and events that align with our strategic goals for our care model and the improvement of health outcomes within our service and growth areas.

  1. Advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in our communities.

Quartz wants to ignite the power to create a life well-lived for everyone in our communities—from all identities and backgrounds. Through our community engagement strategy, we can help advance crucial work aimed at addressing racial and identity disparities and promoting equity. This pillar of our community engagement strategy is to support organizations, programs, and events that align with our strategic goals for DEI&B within the communities in our service area, particularly those that help to address health equity or social determinants of health.

At Quartz, we recognize that DEI&B is a foundational element of our mission and should be woven throughout all of our work. This goal is reflected in our community engagement strategy, which seeks to align our efforts across all three of our key pillars to maximize our impact on the communities we serve.
