Challenge

We recognized the great benefits of continuing our efforts to recruit diverse talent, particularly as a premier provider of research, data, and programs for Fortune 500 companies on best practices in the area of Diversity and Inclusion.

Actions

We have a dedicated HR recruiter on staff who utilizes all available tools to cast a wide net in her recruiting efforts to attract the most diverse pool of candidates possible, including postings on minority-centric association websites, HBCUs, Veteran’s Administration and LGBTQ job boards, etc.  The Conference Board also hosts numerous programs for Fortune 500 companies around the world to learn, share and expand best practices in the area of Diversity and Inclusion.

Outcomes

The Conference Board employs robust strategies within to recruit diverse talent. In 2018, 40% of job applicants and 46% of all new hires were persons from minority categories, and 55% of new hires were women. The Conference Board, Inc. hosts numerous annual conference events on Diversity and Inclusion topics as well as numerous D&I and CHRO peer council groups where senior level employees at Fortune 500 companies meet in person and via virtual meetings to share best practices and improve performance in these areas.
