Leveraging Technology, World Unity Inc. has a Powerful Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Message we can Promote through Technology.

Challenge

Being innovative to find ways to present World Unity Inc.’s message of equality to America and the world.

Actions

We re-produced a PSA that first aired on CBS and NBC Network TV in 1986. It begins with a question – Are you greater than the sun/ that shines on everyone: Black, Brown, Yellow, Red and White/ the sun does not discriminate. © 1985. The new version has been airing on CBS Network TV since August of 2019. Technology has given us the ability to share our PSA with hundreds of organizations across the globe.

We sponsored a national songwriting contest to turn the Sun poem into a song. The winning song, “We All See the Stars,” by John Ciambriello was performed at the United Nations in 2015. It inspired an initiative, “Singing Equality across America and around the World,” we are planting the seeds of equality through this program. We are cultivating the mindset of the future workforce and leaders. We reach out to school districts by phone to introduce our program through the internet.

Outcomes

Over 75 school districts have signed on to share this program with their music teachers. We have videos of anywhere from 100 – 800 students singing the song and even performing the song in sign language. Check out this link to see 800 students singing and performing the verse in sign language: http://worldunityinc.org/800children.html The song inspired one teacher to include the sign language. We now have a formal video where an individual can learn the whole song in sign language.
