Lendlease Responses to the 2020 Racial Tensions

Statement

Lendlease has long upheld the values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and we stand in solidarity with the Black community. While we are very proud of what Lendlease does, both internally and externally, to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture, there is always more we can do.

Following the tragic death of George Floyd, our CEO posted a public statement on LinkedIn and CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion. An additional statement – a video on our stand against racism – was posted on LinkedIn.

We have also:

  • Dedicated time on our Americas Live Updates to talk about racial equity in our workplaces and Diversity & Inclusion at Lendlease
  • Held listening sessions for all employees, providing a forum to listen and learn, as we all work together to help move our community and society forward
  • Encouraged all employees to exercise their fundamental right to attend a sanctioned demonstration on Juneteenth, providing paid Time Off and asking everyone to do so peacefully in accordance with COVID social distancing guidelines and safety protocols
  • Launched an internal site to provide our employees the resources and tools we need to help us stand up for equality, fight injustice and work together to create a more diverse and inclusive community within and beyond Lendlease
  • Encouraged our employees to join the Virtual March on Washington
  • Supported our Black/Brown African American employees for a Meet & Greet Virtual Social Hour to get to know each other and dialogue on how Lendlease can further support them
  • Launched a D&I Advisory Council comprising internal employees and external experts to provide advisement and strategic guidance to the Americas Regional Leadership Team
  • Encouraged our employees to participate in identified racial justice virtual volunteering activities as part of our annual Community Day efforts
  • Partnered with a third-party provider to design and roll-out cultural competency workshops to all employees
