Fresenius Medical Care’s ERGs

Challenge:

We foster an inclusive, diverse, and supportive environment at Fresenius Medical Care by allowing employees to establish and get involved with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).

ERGs bring together groups of employees with similar interests, goals, and experiences who join for professional and personal development, discussion, activities, and/or peer support. ERGs offer many benefits to group members and our corporate culture.

Over the last two years, Fresenius Medical Care has developed a robust roster of highly engaged ERGs that have become integral to the company’s culture.  Launching with four ERGs in 2020, we quickly expanded to 16 groups that help serve as key cornerstones to the company’s DE&I efforts. The ERGs function as a resource for both their members and the company at large, taking the lead on celebrating cultural heritage observances, providing learning opportunities that are specific to their communities, facilitating mentoring programs for members, and advocating for equity for their members inside and outside of the workplace.  Additionally, ERGs actively give back to their communities by participating in fundraising and volunteer opportunities with related organizations.  Fresenius Medical Care recognizes the dedication of the ERG leaders and works continually to support them via resources through the DE&I Office and professional growth opportunities.
