Financially Supporting Our Associates and Communities

Challenge

Fiserv is a global leader in Fintech and payments, and we help people and businesses move money and information every minute of every day. Our solutions connect financial institutions, corporations, merchants and consumers to one another, millions of times a day, behind the scenes, reliably and securely. We proudly serve clients in more than 100 countries, so their customers, members and consumers can move money when and where they need it, at the point of thought. As an essential business with a broad reach, it is important to us to do what we can to care for our associates — 10% of whom work on-site as essential workers — and uplift our communities through small-business and front-line worker support.

Actions

Fiserv is thoughtful about how we use our resources to make the greatest impact. To care for our associates, we are encouraging Fiserv associates, who have been financially impacted by the coronavirus, to apply for grants through our corporate foundation — The Fiserv Cares Fund. To support our communities, we are using our products and services, such as our Clover point-of-sale device and our electronic GYFT card business, to provide relief to frontline workers. We are working with our large community partners to address critical needs.

Outcomes

Caring for our Associates During a Difficult Time

  • Essential workers who need to be on site to ensure business continuity and service clients are receiving a 25% pay increase to their base salary.
  • Fiserv has given out more than $100,000 of disaster relief grants to our associates.

Utilizing Our Core Business to Foster Meaningful Change

  • Fiserv is partnering with the Fire Department of New York City (FDNY) to pay tribute to the New York City EMS workforce. The FDNY will use our GYFT platform to provide digital gift certificate cards to their 4,200 FDNY EMS members.
  • Clover — a Fiserv company — launched the Donate app by Clover is a new way to let customers support their local charity right from a merchant’s Clover® POS device. It’s easy to set up, integrates seamlessly into the Clover checkout experience, and it’s completely free for Clover merchants. The Clover Donation app was first piloted in the New York City metro area in May 2020. The first charity available on the app was Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC, one of the hardest hit hospitals during the coronavirus pandemic.

Working with our Non-Profit Partners to Deepen Our Impact

  • Fiserv partnered with the USO of Metro New York to create the Pier 94 USO Center for the service members aboard the USNS Comfort along with Guard, Reserve, and active duty service members deployed to New York City in support of COVID-19 relief efforts. Fiserv also worked with the Girls Scouts of Greater New York to stock the center with 2,000 boxes of delicious Girl Scout cookies.
  • At our largest client conference in June, Fiserv partnered with the American Red Cross to make it easy for clients to give blood, time, or money to make a difference.
  • Fiserv generously donated to CARE to aid frontline workers, Feeding America to combat food shortages, and ROAR to provide relief to the NYC restaurant industry.
