Executive level training

Challenge:

Finding and training talented individuals is essential to the success of any enduring company. We want to ensure that the future is not only secure but is also mindful of the world we live in and all that it has to offer.

Actions:

We have initiated a program called the Young Executive Training Initiative, (YETI Program). This gives the up-and-coming leaders a seat at the table alongside the stakeholders as we guide and develop the vision and future of the company. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training will be an important aspect of creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive YETI Program. Executive level training around DEI typically will focus on developing the skills and knowledge necessary to promote these values and drive change in the organization. This will be a new piece added to the program.

Here are some key elements that executive level DEI training might cover:

1. Understanding the importance of DEI: This involves educating executives on why DEI is crucial for the success of the organization and why it should be a priority.
2. Unconscious bias: Executives will learn about the existence and effects of unconscious bias, and how to identify and mitigate these biases in decision-making and interactions with others.
3. Inclusive leadership: This aspect of training will focus on the leadership skills and behaviors necessary to create an inclusive work environment and foster a culture of DEI.
4. Intersectionality: Executives will learn about the importance of considering the intersection of various identities, such as race, gender, sexuality, and ability, and how these intersections impact experiences and perspectives in the workplace.
5. Effective communication: Executives will be taught effective communication skills and strategies for promoting DEI within the organization and interacting with a diverse range of employees.
6. Measuring and tracking progress: Training will also cover how to measure and track progress towards DEI goals and how to hold individuals and teams accountable for promoting and upholding these values.

Overall, executive level DEI training is an important step towards creating a workplace that values and embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Our Yeti program today is already very diverse and we want to ensure that the importance of the DEI is carried forward to all generations as we move into the future. We all have something unique to bring to the table and we want to encourage that daily.
