Equity and Belonging

Challenge:

We aim to eliminate barriers to participation and create opportunities for all employees by establishing a culture of belonging. As a new company split off from our parent company, Constellation need to establish a strategy and a framework for continuing the DEI journey.

Actions:
  • Establish a Governance Structure through the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Center of Excellence, including a DEI Advisory Board
  • Establish employee resource groups to provide a network of support for underrepresented groups
  • Offer Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training for all employees
Outcomes:

Constellation has established a DEI Advisory Board comprised of a cross-section of employees representing the business units, functional areas, and employee resource groups. The focus of the Board is on analyzing employee survey results and establishing a strategy to address the areas of opportunities. Our 9 employee resource groups act as agents of change through 67 chapters and about 1,000 members. DEI and Leadership Development partnered to ensure equity in access to training. In addition, DEI concepts were incorporated into core training modules, including new employee orientation, emerging leaders, new manager training, and supervisory development training. We were able to train 2,300 employees through the collaboration. In addition, we offered DEI specific webinars, town hall meetings, and support of ERG signature events where we connected with more than 5,000 employees.
