EC I Act On Pledge

Increase leadership commitment to diversity and inclusion at Cerner.

Actions

In Q3 2020 all 13 members of Cerner’s Executive Committee signed the I ACT ON pledge to support and model inclusive behavior at Cerner. 

The pledge promises:

  • I will check my own biases and take meaningful action to understand and mitigate them.
  • I will initiate meaningful, complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations with my friends and colleagues.
  • I will ask myself, “Do my actions and words reflect the value of inclusion?”
  • I will move outside my comfort zone to learn about the experiences and perspectives of others.
  • I will share my insights related to what I have learned.

By signing the pledge, members of Cerner’s Executive Committee have taken another step in the company’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion and by joining Brent Shafer, CEO when he signed the CEO Pledge in October 2019.

Outcomes

All associates were invited to share their commitment to diversity and inclusion on the internal Yammer page.
