Building Our Culture of Belonging

Challenge:

We strive to build a culture of belonging through learning, engagement, and action. To continue making N-able the best place to work, we seek to communicate our commitment to Diversity, Equality and Belonging (DEB), and encourage N-ablites to be part of the solution.

Actions:

Supporting N-ablite-driven, company-sponsored Communities of Interest (COIs): PRISM (Pride. Resilience. Inclusivity. Strength. Mindfulness.), WONDER (Women of N-able Defining Equality and Respect), and Shades (our COI for People of Color).

  • PRISM: Celebrating Pride Month with our first ever Week of Belonging program. With feedback from our N-ablites, we’ve added pronouns to our HR Information System and partner with PRISM to deliver ongoing pronoun training.
  • WONDER: Driving community through workshops and discussions like fireside chats with women board members of N-able to discuss career progression and navigating leadership as well as a session on championship to better support women of N-able.
  • Shades: Commemorating Black History Month with a Black History Heroes panel, as well as a spotlight series for Lunar New Year - bringing visibility and support to N-ablites across all races, ethnicities, and cultures.

Driving education and awareness through feedback and programming

  • Provide education and uniquely designed engagement programming monthly to commemorate key observances such as Lunar New Year, Black History Month, International Women's Day, Pride Month and more.
  • Lessen the representation gap in tech through corporate giving: funding educational opportunities for underrepresented communities in STEM.

Partnering with external diversity champions to serve underrepresented communities

  • Support N-able’s women executives and development through our partnership with Chief. We prioritize growing our professional community to share ideas and solve business challenges.
  • Workshops with leading DEB practitioner specializing in company-wide sessions to engage in robust dialogue around key DEB topics.
Outcomes:

When analyzing our 2022 N-ablite Engagement Survey results, we were proud to see significant (+5%) year-over-year increases across a number of categories including survey participation, rising from 82% in 2021 to 88% in 2022, an overall increase of 6%. Our Annual N-ablite Engagement Score rose to 82% in 2022 (up from 77% in 2021), a 5% increase. N-ablites received a subset of questions regarding DEB and we saw a 5% increase in this score at 85% in 2022 (compared to 2021’s score of 80%). These significant increases serve as motivation to raise the bar to create an exceptional N-ablite experience.

Diversity, Equality and Belonging is core to who we are at N-able, and our culture of belonging is one that we all shape together. Through engagement, awareness, and ultimately, action, we can create change. We’re on a journey, with more work to do, and we’ll remain committed to N-spire Others and each other to take action.
