Challenge:

Constellation has identified three key challenges in building the future pipeline of underrepresented and underserved community members: improve awareness of energy careers at the youth and work-ready adult level; foster equitable access for individuals interested in pursuing an energy career by reducing or eliminating barriers including transportation, child care, and educational qualifications; and increase opportunities for advancement by upskilling and reskilling the current and future workforce.

Actions:

Seek to establish a diversity pledge and commitment to diversity among Constellation, the 14 Building Trades Unions that supply labor for Constellation, and the contractors that employ that supplied labor. Seek to establish an oversight committee of key stakeholders to monitor actions to implement the diversity pledge.

Outcomes:
  • Diversity Pledge was signed by Constellation, the 14 Building Trades Unions, and key contractor partners.
  • Oversight committee established to monitor progress toward the goals of the Diversity Pledge
