Educating others on intersectionality and how its interconnected nature of social categorizations — commonly known as stereotyping — impacts all of us.
Actions
During Women's History Month, VyStar led the way by hosting its inaugural Women's Summit. The summit was an informative and highly engaging event that received favorable feedback from VyStar team members, corporate partners, and members of our Board of Directors. It consisted of thought-provoking conversation with VyStar leadership, including Brian Wolfburg, President/CEO; Jenny Vipperman, Chief Lending Officer; and Jennifer Kouchis Lopez, Senior Vice President of Real Estate. It also featured a keynote presentation from DEI trailblazer Risha Grant, question-and-answer sessions, interactive participant chats and informative breakout sessions packed with illuminating statistics.
Outcomes
We exceeded 500 attendees, maintained an over 2 hours average watch time of more than two hours and logged 82,500 total viewing minutes. In addition, we extended our reach globally to attendees from as far away as Belgium and Sweden.
As a result, VyStar Credit Union has now firmly established three major pillars in diversity, equity and inclusion:
- We stand alongside women for equity in the workplace.
- We stand against systemic oppression across the board.
- We stand for social justice for everyone along with our other respected corporate partners and their senior leaders.
