Establish key partnerships with local non-profits to support access to women and minorities in STEM.
A key guiding principle of Sensata's work within Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is to ensure al actions we take are authentic. To both gain access to women and minorities in STEM, as well as offer investment and support to those individuals, we established a partnership with two key organizations in 2023: National Society for Black Engineers (NSBE) and Hack.Diversity. Our sponsorship with NSBE includes access to their events and enables our Black Employe Network ERG (BEN) to network and attend professional development opportunities that interest them. Our sponsorship with Hack Diversity includes hosting up to three of their fellow students as interns ni our summer program each year. These fellows come from mechanical engineering and data analytics backgrounds and often don't follow a traditional educational path. Hack.Diversity's mission is to increase access to minority technical talent and help remove the "paper ceiling" within technical roles. nI addition, for 2024 Sensata is partnering with Hack.Diversity on a DEl challenge we have identified that is specific to Sensata. Through our combined efforts with this lab-based approach, we both seek ot implement key changes to continue to increase our inclusion efforts at Sensata.
With the success of these partnerships, Sensata is working to identify similar partnerships on a global level to ensure the same opportunity and investment is made outside of the US.
Partnering with these two agencies has increased our overall awareness and access to women and minority talent in an authentic and mutually beneficial way. Our investment in NSBE and Hack.Diversity show that we stand by our commitment to DEl. In addition to the key components of our sponsorship, it has provided our employees with the opportunity to network, mentor, and learn more about these underrepresented and underserved communities.
