We recognized our female employees lacked a space to connect, share concerns, and build community.
At SurveyMonkey, our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) play a critical role in helping us create a more inclusive environment. We currently have three employee resource groups, and one of our most active groups is WIN.
Established in 2016, WIN was created to strengthen women in the workplace through educational programs, partnerships and events that provide information, connections, resources, and opportunities. This group provides a supportive space for anyone to discuss whatever is on an employee's mind in regards to gender topics such as leadership, sponsorship, women in tech, and other parts of daily work life. The goal is to bring together women and men to empower women in the workplace and to help reduce gender imbalance in the industry.
Each quarter WIN selects a topic and creates programming and events to help employees learn. Past topics include: negotiation, sponsorship, networking, and executive presence. During this time, the WIN committee creates workshops and shares resources to expand how employees think about the topic.
Since 2016, over 100 women across 5 offices have participated in WIN. Whether it’s through workshops, social events or slack channel discussion.
