Assisting our customers and clients

At Wells Fargo, we are committed to providing financial access, guidance and support so that our customers and clients can focus on their well-being and their loved ones. Wells Fargo is doing everything in our power to continue to serve our customers and clients — through digital and mobile, by phone and in offices and branches as prudent.

Supporting customers

  • Suspending residential property foreclosure sales, auto repossessions, and evictions
  • Offering fee waivers, payment deferrals, and other expanded assistance for credit card, auto, mortgage, small business, and personal lending customers who contact us

Supporting small business

  • Granting Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans to qualifying small business customers up to $10 million
  • Granting payment relief for up to 90 days, as well as fee waivers, payment deferrals, and increases to lines of credit for customers who contact us

Supporting students

  • Providing 90-day payment deferrals and suppression of negative credit reporting for student lending customers who contact us
  • Proactively communicating with past-due customers to provide support

Supporting our employees

Wells Fargo is supporting employees while protecting public safety by enabling them to work from home where possible; enhancing social distancing measures; adjusting branch operating hours and maximizing drive-up usage; enhancing cleaning; and suspending job displacements.

In addition, we have made benefits changes such as:

Awarding cash payments

  • Providing one-time cash award to 170,000 eligible employees worldwide
  • Awarding additional cash payments to front-line employees
  • Combined, this could equate up to $1,600 for certain qualifying employees

Enhancing benefits

  • Enhancing benefits for those affected by coronavirus through illness or school closures
  • Activating assistance for employees worldwide
  • Donating $10 million in grants to support affected employees

Assisting our communities

We're focused on the needs of the communities where we operate. Wells Fargo Foundation donations are helping to address food shortages, public health needs, small business stability, and housing security for the most vulnerable populations. Resources will be allocated via expedited grant-making at the local level and also through relief efforts with national and international organizations in order to serve the immediate needs of communities. This includes:

$175M in charitable donations

  • Helping public health organizations fighting to contain the spread of COVID-19
  • Helping address food, shelter, small business, and housing stability issues

$10M to small businesses

  • Relief for small business owners through nonprofit lenders serving diverse entrepreneurs

$1M to the CDC Foundation

  • Meeting emerging needs (e.g., state and local health departments) owners through nonprofit lenders serving diverse entrepreneurs

$250K to international medical corps

  • Supporting their work in 30+ countries

  • Supporting local health authorities
  • Addressing community specific needs
