To create a truly inclusive culture, employees at all levels must understand unconscious bias and leaders must have tools to effective leverage diverse teams.
In 2016, Paramount Global launched a series of Unconscious Bias workshops, with special attention focused on the creative teams who impact programming decisions, as well as Human Resources. In 2017, we expanded further with Inclusive Leadership training for senior executives, including our CEO and his direct reports. With the strong endorsement of Paramount Global's Board of Directors, these training sessions are being offered globally and will cascade down throughout the organization.
We solicited feedback and found that the overwhelming majority of course participants not only found the sessions useful and informative, but also that they were extremely likely to apply their learnings in their day to day work.
It is not enough to say that we are committed to diversity and inclusion. We must challenge ourselves to engage in constructive dialogue and empower our employees with knowledge and tools to lead with inclusion.
