Transforming DEI Committees into Employee Resource Groups

Challenge

As a company that has rapidly grown since our inception in 2018, we recognize the importance a diverse workforce plays in retaining our employees and providing outstanding expertise to our global customers across many markets. We realized our existing grassroots communities needed additional support to promote more engagement at Spaulding Ridge as we ventured into the next face of our DEI journey.

Actions

We rebranded our DEI committees into Employee Resource Groups (ERGS) with a standardize structure, a consistent framework to follow and formal executive sponsors to build a greater sense of community and to continue to foster an inclusive culture for our growing business. Our ERGs refocused their mission statements to better meet the needs of their membership and began to shift their focus to more high impact, high results-oriented programming moving forward. ERG participation is open to all employees and cross-collaboration across groups is welcomed and encouraged.

Outcomes

Currently we have 4 ERGs: Culture, Race & Ethnicity (ORE), Mental Wellness Alliance (MWA), PROUD (LGBTQ+) and Women Elevate (WE). In 2024, we will be expanding our ERG presence in EMEA and APAC through the launch of ERG Chapters in those regions. We have seen an increase in senior leadership engagement and a steady increase in new members since the rebranding.

Quote

Our success as an organization is heightened when we leverage diversity of thought and experience, when we dare to innovate, push boundaries, and encourage our people to bring their full selves to work each and every day.
