The StepStone Diversity and Inclusion Network (SDIN) focuses on providing opportunities for our employees to learn about various topics and issues related to diversity and inclusion both at StepStone and more broadly. We have hosted events across our offices globally to help facilitate dialogue, communication and education amongst our employee base. StepStone believes these events are particularly important to continue during the pandemic and the work from home environment. Some examples of SDIN events that have been held at StepStone over the past year include:
- Becoming an LGBTQ+ Leader: a guest speaker spoke about her struggles with bringing her "whole self" to work and the ways in which her career changed for the better once she was able to overcome them
- Breaking Through the Bias: featured a guest speaker who discussed some of the steps individuals and organizations alike can take to overcome bias and maximize their potential
- Exploring Careers in Private Markets: a group of female college students joined us in our La Jolla office for a Women in Finance event to learn about the many career paths private markets offer and to hear first hand how some of our employees wound up where they are today
- Diversity in Asian Private Markets: a Beijing-based event for female investment professionals to discuss how Asia-based firms within our industry are approaching diversity and inclusion
