Brian Moynihan, CEO of Bank of America, announced the company is supporting communities in the U.S. and around the world in a number of ways as they face unprecedented challenges from the coronavirus. The company has committed $100 million to help increase medical response capacity, address food insecurity, increase access to learning as a result of school closures through the bank’s partnership with Khan Academy, and provide support to the world’s most vulnerable populations. This includes $10 million in philanthropic grants to help fund community development financial institutions, or CDFI, operations, and $250 million in capital to CDFIs to help sustain small businesses, health care centers, schools and other community facilities.
