Supplier Diversity at SitelogIQ

Challenge

SitelogIQ will need to expand our supplier base to meet growth targets.  In addition to our current supply base, we need to cast a wider net to engage with diverse suppliers that serve our current and future customers but also bring diverse thought to the table to solve complex customer problems.

Actions

In order to identify and utilize DBEs, we are rolling out a Diverse Business Enterprise Engagement plan in 2021 to reach DBEs in all SIQ markets. The first action in this plan is an educational communication to the leadership team, operations council, and all employees in all divisions as to what DBEs are and why an outreach plan benefits SitelogIQ. Ongoing education through existing channels (ie biweekly Operations Council meetings) will be held as needed. Once this communication has happened, the outreach plan will be finalized. One representative from each division will help to provide input to the plan as well as conduct DBE sessions where we reach out to businesses and share what SIQ does as well as upcoming projects that they may want to bid on. These outreach sessions will begin in late 3rd quarter and will include representation from divisions and HQ leadership teams. We will use online databases and NAICS codes to target specific subcontractors. In addition to the subcontractor outreach, we also will utilize our subcontractor qualifications database to identify already existing suppliers who qualify as DBEs and utilize our Group Purchasing Organization partners to identify material suppliers who qualify as DBEs. All DBE spend will be tracked and reported quarterly and reported through the above mentioned channels. In addition to the above action, we will also be updating our external website to indicate our DBE efforts and allow all subcontractors and suppliers to contact SitelogIQ and express their interest in working with our teams.

Outcomes

We expect to have a more diverse workplace where people feel comfortable bringing their whole self to work, employees are connected to one another and feel comfortable sharing experiences and concerns. Overall we expect employees to be engaged.

Quote

It is not simply a matter of “it is the right thing to do” when considering a focus on Diversity….Equity…..and Inclusion. It is the SMART thing to do!  Without question, the greatest asset of any company is a talented and engaged workforce. Why would any wise CEO overtly choose to limit the talent pool from which she or he would recruit and develop from? Embracing diversity in an equitable manner is the greatest productivity lever in the CEO’s arsenal. Use it!
