Supplier Diversity at Premier

Challenge

We realize that minority-owned, women-owned and small businesses are not always given the opportunity to compete for our business in the same ways as their larger and widely known competitors can.

Actions

Our supplier diversity program provides minority, women and small veteran (veteran, disabled veteran, service-disabled veteran) business enterprises (MWVBEs) the opportunity to partner with us to support our efforts to continually lead the way in healthcare innovation.

Outcomes

With approximately 390 diverse contracts with small, women-owned and minority-owned businesses, as defined by the Small Business Administration, they play a critical role in meeting the needs of our Premier membership.
Our supplier diversity program provides:

  • Access to approximately 3,900 U.S. hospitals and more than 150,000 other provider organizations
  • Tools and resources to assist them with contract sales and building long-term relationships
  • Contracts featured in Premier’s online catalog, Supply Chain Advisor®
  • Opportunity to win the Premier Supplier Diversity Award which honors those who have made contributions to their local community
