In 2018, we decided to take a bold stand for creating a more racially diverse organization at the senior levels within the organization.
As a part of our organizational wide scorecard, we included a goal to increase the number of racially diverse hires with a target of 30%. Then increased the target to 50% for 2019 and 2020. We monitored this goal along with the other system goals every month. Our plan included ensuring that we had a racially diverse slate of candidates as well as a diverse interview panel.
2018 - We exceeded our target (30%) and stretch goal (35%). We achieved 52.94%
2019 - Met the target of 50%
