Pledge to Be an Ally
Challenge
Brown Smith Wallace created the “Pledge to Be an Ally” for employees to show their support for our diversity and inclusion initiative.
Actions
We credit Ted Talk, 3 Ways to Be a Better Ally in the Workplace, for providing its foundation which is to:
• Listen, ask clarifying questions, and keep learning
• Advocate for underrepresented family members and help normalize allyship; and
• Be there for my family members and make real commitments to creating change across Brown Smith Wallace
Upon taking the pledge, Allies are automatically featured on the D&I page of the FamilyNet (company intranet) alongside the D&I Council.
Outcomes
86 employees have taken the pledge and that number continues to grow.
