On behalf of the Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA) Executive Committee, I would like to acknowledge that we are deeply saddened by the recent death of George Floyd and we are concerned about the resulting civil unrest in communities throughout the U.S. Sadly, events like these reflect the continued systemic racism that has been prevalent in our communities for far too long. We stand by those who are peacefully opposing racial injustice.
At OCA, we have zero tolerance for racism, discrimination, or violence of any kind, whether it is within the company or in our communities. Staying true to our values of unity and empathy is more important than ever as we each do our part to rectify the insidious impacts of racism in all its forms. If these recent events have taught us anything, it is that words don’t define us – actions do. With that in mind, we would like to highlight some of the ways we are helping to foster a work environment in which all individuals are treated fairly and with the empathy they deserve.
We would like to stress that the safety and well-being of our employees and communities are our top priority. We will continue to engage employees in dialogue about discrimination, bias, and systemic racism, with the goal of opening hearts and minds and paving the way to a healthier future for all people. Together, we can make a difference in our company and our communities.
Thank you.
