Measuring Progress: Diverse Representation Dashboards

Challenge

Business leaders were unable to evaluate their progress in building more diverse teams at every level of their organization.

Actions

A key to being able to solve any problem is visibility. Utilizing our HRIS (human resource information system), we asked employees to voluntarily self-select their demographic information with the assurance that this information was going to be used solely for reporting purposes. With this data, we created a set of 3 dashboards: female representation, BIPOC representation and detailed race/ethnicity representation. The dashboards can be filtered to a specific industry group or job group and will ultimately include hiring and attrition data. 

Outcomes

Each of the dashboards can answer these critical questions: 

  • How has the representation of groups changed over time? 
  • How has the representation of groups at leadership levels changed over time? 
  • What is the representation of the group within our primary job functions (Business, Creative, Tech, Sales, etc.)? 
  • What is the representation of the group through our primary job levels? (Entry -> VP+)
