Marketing Commitment to #SeeAll

Challenge

To create more diverse and inclusive messaging to reach multicultural audiences, the marketing team must first have comprehensive DEI and multicultural professional development.

Actions

Southern New Hampshire University is a member of the Alliance for Inclusive and Multicultural Marketing (AIMM). As a member of AIMM, we have made a pledge to effect change in the marketing industry by committing to #SeeAll – that is, to represent people of diverse backgrounds and highlighting their stories. By doing so, we reach potential multicultural students where they are and make those connections.

In order to execute multicultural marketing in an authentic and understanding manner, the SNHU marketing department is actively participating in DEI trainings and professional development opportunities. These trainings are conducted internally through the assistance of the SNHU Office of Diversity and Inclusion, as well as through our membership with AIMM, which includes webinars and conferences.

Outcomes

The SNHU Chief Marketing Officer has signed a pledge with AIMM to #SeeAll, and the marketing department has actively participated in AIMM efforts. In addition, we have created a DEI and Multicultural Learning Plan for the SNHU Marketing Department, in which each marketing member is including this plan as part of their professional development goals for the year. Lastly, we have begun to expand our efforts in multicultural marketing by highlighting our diverse students and their stories in our advertising and marketing.
