Lack of a strategic process to ensure intentionality of DEI efforts across our network.
We expanded the role of DEI director, and hired Dr. Samantha-Rae Dickenson, who is in the process of developing a DEI strategy, which evolves our vision to align with our mission. Dr. Dickenson is also creating a framework for delivering Goodwill’s mission that will enable Goodwill organizations to promote equity among job seekers and ensure all people can learn new skills, access tools, and connect to better jobs and career opportunities. This framework will be rolled out in the coming months. We also established a National DEI Task Force led by local leaders to help advance the work throughout our network, committed to promoting and facilitating opportunities for education, training, discussion and action focused on eliminating discrimination in the workplace.
