Inclusive Hiring Practices

Challenge:

Our team had a high referral volume, but we weren’t getting diversity of thought, industries or backgrounds by continuing to refer through the same networks. We needed to expand our reach in order that our team would reflect the communities in which we serve.

Actions:

Crayon US implemented inclusive hiring practices which ensures hiring panels are diverse, our recruiting team presents diverse candidates and interview slates to hiring managers and values-based interviews are conducted to help alleviate unconscious bias and impartiality as we assess candidates for culture fit. We launched unconscious bias training in parallel to help educate our workforce and bring awareness to our own internal biases that can surface throughout the hiring process.

Outcomes:

We have seen a 13% increase in diverse hiring YoY since implementing our inclusive hiring practices. 58% of our hires are females or underrepresented minorities from a vast range of industries and backgrounds. This has enabled our team to think differently on how we go to market and support our customers and partners across the US.
