Inclusive Early Talent Recruitment

Challenge

Supporting businesses to reach exceptional entry-level talent from a diversity of backgrounds.

Actions

At Multiverse, we have a dedicated outreach team. They work in partnership with schools, colleges, and youth organizations to help young people without college degrees from underrepresented backgrounds access professional apprenticeships at top companies. See here for more information. Additionally, inclusion is at the heart of the way we recruit apprentices on behalf of our clients. This includes a purpose-built platform with contextualization features and an Early Talent team which supports candidates throughout the process, enabling them shine at interviews.

Outcomes

In 2020, of apprentices placed at companies by Multiverse, 54% were women, 56% were BIPOC and 34% met at least one of our measures of socio-economic disadvantage.

Quote

Diversity, inclusion, and equity are deeply important to our mission as a company, the apprenticeships we offer, and how we approach our work. Laying the path to success for talented people, from a range of backgrounds, means cultivating a culture where they will be supported to succeed.

Having a diverse organization is the right thing to do and every company should be focused on better reflecting the people we serve. But it also makes good business sense - diverse teams are proven to increase fresh ideas, show higher financial returns, and even improve employee retention. Getting this right is firmly at the top of the agenda for many businesses, our own included.
