Inclusion Education and Training at Timmons

Challenge

Timmons Group is proud to support our minority employees with deliberate and mindful inclusion practices across each of our offices. With consistent and accurate efforts in inclusion education, we can provide sustainable changes for the current and future growth of our colleagues and peers that have been historically excluded and underrepresented.

Actions

Our Unconscious Bias Training has been a proven method of inclusion education firmwide. Training is offered to firm leadership with the intent to help expose people to their own biases while also providing tools to help those individuals realize more effective and non-discriminatory ways to communicate in the workplace.
Timmons Group is proud to implement Equal Employment Opportunity measures firmwide, and our iteration of treating others the way you would like to be treated is a centric theme throughout our EEO policy in our employee handbook. Timmons Group employees would argue that this mission is pertinent to our company culture and is visible during company events, meetings, and outings. Timmons Group’s Affirmative Action Plan is designed annually to establish fair-minded access to employment opportunities for minorities, women, and veterans across our firm. This plan establishes goals for groups in our firm that might be underrepresented in a job category. Our goal is to represent the communities in which we serve while creating a workplace that is an accurate portrayal of all qualified individuals in the A/E/C industry. We are also proud to celebrate inclusion education through our social channels. In February 2021, Timmons Group implemented a marketing plan to commemorate Black History Month with posts, interviews, and blogs that feature current Timmons Group employees and historically significant Black individuals in the A/E/C industry.

Outcomes

Through education, training, and affirmative action, Timmons Group hopes to be a positive influence for other leading firms and community members.
