Hybrid Work Plan

Challenge

The pandemic catapulted our people's desire for a hybrid work model.

Actions

The COVID-19 pandemic fast-tracked the remote work environment and people's desire for a hybrid work model beyond standard flex time benefits. In June 2021, Yeo & Yeo fully re-opened, welcoming our employees back into the offices and launching a new Hybrid Work Plan (HWP). The HWP offers even greater flexibility in working in and outside the office while benefiting from the collaboration, mentoring, connectedness, and overall well-being that in-person work provides.

Under our new HWP, our experienced professionals have the option to spend two to five days a week in the office. New hires and staff with less than one year of experience are expected to be in the office four to five days a week for the training and mentoring crucial in a person's first year. Some roles, specific projects, and busy seasons may require additional days in the office. The HWP is earned and requires supervisor approval. Employees work with their supervisors to determine an appropriate schedule that works for them, the team, and their department. To support team building, collaboration, and culture, it is requested that staff report for in-person office team meetings. It is the expectation staff will be just as, if not more efficient when working remotely as when working in the office.

Outcomes

Our Hybrid Work Plan is helping to retain, attract and engage our workforce. Feedback received has been highly favorable in meeting and even exceeding their expectations. Our people can more successfully balance their careers and personal lives. With improved quality of life and well-being, we see happier employees, increased morale, greater productivity, and more exceptional delivery of client service.

Yeo & Yeo's HWP was influenced by our people, culture and long-standing core value of providing successful integration of career and personal life. Listening to the needs of today's workforce and learning to successfully adapt is a major step towards creating a more inclusive organization.
