HealthScape LifeSciences: Facts Over Fear response to COVID-19

The international outbreak of COVID-19 posed a serious threat to public health.  The outbreak also left many without direct contact with their care providers.  Hearing questions about the implications of COVID-19 on health from family and friends, Dr. Helene, Founder, and CEO of HealthScape LifeSciences, LLC, decided to create an educational video series, "Facts Over Fear," to answer these questions.   

Each video, 3-4 minutes in length, addresses a question posed by those in her community.  Topics included "Why I Should Have Routine Comprehensive Eye Examinations," "Why I Should Not Panic If I Wear Contact Lenses," and "Why Should I participate in Virtual Healthcare?".  In each video, Dr. Helene addressed the questions and then gave her recommendations and personal experiences.  In "Why I Should Have Routine Comprehensive Eye Exams," she explains that these exams do not only check your vision but allow the doctor to see if you have serious, sometimes "silent" visual or systemic health problems.

Each video addressed questions received by Dr. Helene and bridged the gap between what some were hearing in the news and the medical reason behind the direction given by governmental and health officials.  In "Why I Should Not Touch My Face?" Dr. Helene recognized that more attention and explanation for hand washing in the mainstream news didn't go far enough with consumer education.  The news did not give the same attention to explaining why touching your face could spread viral strains.  Dr. Helene bridged this gap and gave medical reasoning around these extra precautions to prevent further spreading of Covid-19 and other viral strains.

At the time of this submission, over 900 views of "Facts over Fear" demonstrate how helpful these videos were to the community. A comment on one video says, "Thank you for keeping us informed with the facts and best practices that we need to implement" best sums this effort.
