Future Diversity Leaders Program

Challenge

The Future Diversity Leaders (FDL) program was created in 2007 to inspire, develop, and ultimately attract ethnically diverse developing leaders to KPMG.

Actions

The Future Diversity Leaders program aims to recruit high-potential, ethnically diverse freshmen and sophomores, who are planning to major in business. The Program provides these students an opportunity to consider KPMG as their employer of choice through leadership skills training, ongoing coaching and mentoring as well as internships.

Many of the participants throughout the program’s history are first-generation college students.  The 2016 class included 90 college students who attended workshops on social styles, global leadership, and networking, and connected with ambassadors who began their KPMG careers through the program.

FDL has become a keystone of our firm’s commitment to inclusion and diversity through early recruitment of the brightest university students across the country. It also reaffirms KPMG’s long-standing focus on sustaining a pipeline of diverse talent and developing next-generation leaders.

Outcomes

As of 2016, the FDL program has had over 650 students from more than 100 colleges and universities participate in the past 10 years. More than 50 KPMG offices have hired FDL participants.
