Ensuring that executive leadership, which includes the CEO and the EMC (Executive Management Committee), several members of the EOC (Executive Operating Committee) and the executive leadership of the black employee resource group; BOND (Blacks Organization for Networking and Development) are educated, committed and well versed on diversity, equity and inclusion and the ability to embed D,E & I within the fabric of the organization.
Partnered with several external consulting firms to measure, analyze, and present data around diversity and inclusion representation within AmerisourceBergen. Additionally, partnered with a D&I subject matter consulting firm to facilitate several workshops with several levels of the organization’s executives including the D&I Council and the executive leaders of BOND to examine the findings, make recommendations based on the findings and commit to support an overarching D&I strategy that would shift the organization’s culture and lead to a more diverse and inclusive environment.
Several members of the EOC, all the EMC, D&I Council, and executive leadership of BOND, experienced an intensive personal and professional cultural immersion around race, ethnicity, inclusion and equity led by the consulting firm. From this immersion, all of the individuals who participated (app 50 leaders) made personal and group commitments to a broad D&I strategy that includes talent attraction, retention and development, fostering a more diverse and inclusive culture within their respective teams and direct reports and acting as sponsors and champions.
