Challenge

To significantly enhance our focus on diversity and inclusion (D&I) at Celestica and foster an environment in which all employees can thrive.

Actions

Celestica’s goal is to foster an environment that enables everyone to thrive, with everyday practices that promote diversity, equity and inclusion for all. Our actions include:

  • Forming a Steering Committee co-chaired by Celestica’s CEO and Head of HR and a working D&I Committee. Both committees examine all aspects of D&I at Celestica in an effort to foster a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Identifying a leader responsible for driving and implementing the D&I strategy.
  • Partnering with InRoads, a nonprofit organization committed to building sustainable career pathways for underrepresented talent, colleges and universities to support our internship program and new graduate recruitment strategy to increase the visibility of opportunities at Celestica.
  • Exploring learning opportunities to ensure all employees gain awareness of unconscious bias and inclusivity.
  • Conducting an all-employee D&I survey in an effort to gain insights, assess the general sentiment regarding D&I at Celestica and to establish a baseline to measure future progress as we enhance the D&I practice.
  • Increasing CEO communications on issues related to D&I with Celestica’s board of directors, senior leaders and all employees.
  • Engaging our Board of Directors on topics related to certain diversity metrics and our progress towards improving D&I at Celestica.
Outcomes

Executive leadership team is meeting on a regular basis to discuss D&I priorities and outcomes; D&I is a regularly discussed topic at internal meetings; and is becoming embedded in Celestica’s culture.
