Sun continuously seeks to amplify all team member voices and perspectives. We foster a collaborative environment where individuals across roles and backgrounds can influence action and decision-making, ensuring authenticity and inclusivity in everything we do.

Actions

Established a Council

  • In 2021, Sun created a council focused solely on inclusion and belonging, representative of team members in roles across multiple functions, locations, and experiences across the company. The council meets regularly and:
    • Guides inclusion and belonging strategies and decision-making
    • Acts as a voice for all team members
    • Collaborates across teams to align initiatives with our cultural goals and organizational objectives

Created Community-Building Initiatives

  • To deepen connections and create spaces for authentic engagement, Sun introduced:
    • Voices of Sun: A video series where team members share personal stories, promoting empathy and understanding.
    • Resource Groups: Communities for team members with shared identities or experiences to connect, learn, and celebrate together. These groups host networking events, cultural celebrations, and educational sessions.
    • Mentorship Programs: Development programs designed to accelerate growth, connection, and support; mentorship areas cover company operations and are aligned with employee resource groups.
    • Biennial Conference: A forum that unites team members and leaders across geographies to deliver engaging learning content, thought leadership, connection, and purpose through development courses, networking, a charitable give-back event, and more.
Outcomes

Through these efforts, Sun has built a culture where inclusion and belonging are not just initiatives—they are lived experiences. Our Council and Resource Groups continue to evolve, helping to ensure voices are heard and team members feel empowered to contribute authentically. Together, we are nurturing a workplace where diversity is celebrated, equity is championed, and belonging is foundational to our success.
