Employee Resource Groups at ITT Inc.

Challenge

To foster a culture of diversity and inclusion that empowers our employees to bring their collective voices together for greater impact and a sense of belonging. 

Actions

To create a culture that amplify the voices of our Women, People of Color and Veterans, we launched three employee resource groups in 2021. With a focus on recruitment, retention, and advancement of Women, POC, and Veterans, our ERGS are driven by four strategic pillars: Talent, Community, Business, and Workplace. Each ERG has an executive sponsor who plays a significant role in supporting ERG committee members. The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager meets monthly with each ERG committee to align on goals and collaboration across ERGs.

Outcomes

Our ERGs have seen tremendous success since they were launched. Some of the successful outcomes include: Martin Luther King Jr. panel discussion on Social Equity and its relevance in today’s workplace, a collaboration between the BOLD-Empowering People of Color and the Veterans ERGS for a documentary screening of the Tuskegee Airmen in honor of Black History Month, Virtual Happy hour for community engagement and partnering with the philanthropy council to donate to local charities that align with the mission of our ERGs.
