Ensure that company-wide DEI efforts reflect the needs and interests of employees as a whole. Spread awareness about DEI programming and initiatives to the entire company.
Formed an employee-led Diversity Committee in May 2023 through a company-wide application process. The committee was tasked with spreading awareness about DEI-related topics within their own company contacts, publishing company-wide newsletters, consulting on DEI-related policies, and developing educational programing on DEI. Two Sub-Committees were also formed, focused on Talent and Education.
The Diversity Committee and Sub-Committees have met regularly during the past 2+ years to discuss DEI at Veritext and work on various DEI projects and initiatives. Projects include: Researching talent sources to build a diverse talent pipeline, publishing newsletters on various DEI topics, vetting external speakers for company-wide events, facilitating training sessions on inclusivity, and preparing talking points to communicate the status of our DEI efforts at company-wide update meetings.
Our advancements with our overall DEI initiatives are further along because of the leadership [our VIVID Group Leaders] have provided. The openness, comfort level, education, and inspiring setting each of the leaders provided has allowed us to create a safe, productive and engaging start to our groups.
