Diversity Philanthropy and Community Investment at CAI

Challenge

At its core, CAI is a purpose-driven organization. Giving back is a part of our DNA. As a part of this journey, we asked ourselves, how do we provide opportunities to serve individuals.

Actions

CAI has an arm of business that is known as our Autism2Work practice. This is CAI's flagship service which provides meaningful careers to individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. CAI's vision is to ensure job opportunities were enabled for neurodiverse individuals, and today, CAI is one of the largest employers in the US for those on the autism spectrum. Beyond CAI's passion for employing and empowering persons with disabilities, our work shines in philanthropic efforts. A mission of CAI is in doing good and using the human and financial resources to give back to the community. CAI Cares is the community service arm of CAI that positively impacts the lives of children and families in need. The initiative has donated to over 170 philanthropic organizations throughout the last nine years and funds 11 schools including the CAI Learning Academy. The academy is a private school funded entirely by CAI and is free to its students. It serves inner-city children leveraging forward-thinking technology-driven instruction to make learning more efficient and effective. CAI optimizes the school's resources to equip students for necessary life skills.

Outcomes

In 2020 alone, CAI has given out donations and sponsorships valued over $1.9 million to more than 50 nonprofits. Some of those include:

  • $1,002,885 to CAI Learning Academy
  • $200,000 to Feeding America
  • $500,000 to Education Partners
