Developing Diverse Talent at Wegmans

Challenge

Create intentional outreach and systems for attracting and developing a more diverse slate of candidates from internal and external sources to help accelerate diverse representation across all areas of leadership.

Actions
  • Launched a Mentoring Program to help and support employees to achieve developmental goals
  • Established location-level and companywide goals to improve representation among leadership ranks, leveraging our Talent Pipeline programs (Ex. Intern, Team Leader Trainee, Management Trainee) and targeted development planning
Outcomes

Mentoring program has been documented and tracked in our Human Capital Management system. Division specific initiatives for diverse leadership mentorship and development have been created and are being reported on quarterly.
