COVID-19 Benefit Concert

Challenge

The COVID-19 pandemic changed the way organizations operated, forcing them pivot their entire business and cost models overnight. Moving to a fully remote model was a big adjustment for many employees amid a pandemic impacting them and their families. We also recognized a need to support the community, particularly frontline healthcare and restaurant workers who were putting their lives on the line every day.

Actions

We saw an opportunity to bring employees together during work-at-home mandates and lift their spirits, while at the same time giving back to those on the pandemic’s frontlines. The result was a virtual benefit concert hosted by Navisite, featuring Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Dolls. During the show, donations were collected benefitting Off Their Plate, a Boston-based relief organization that provides expertise and funding to restore shift hours for restaurant workers in several U.S. cities, so they can provide meals for healthcare workers.

Outcomes

In addition to boosting morale during a difficult time—the Relief Concert raised nearly $40,000 to help healthcare workers on the frontlines, with Navisite matching all employee contributions. 100% of the proceeds benefited Off Their Plate, providing roughly 4,000 meals for healthcare workers while restoring 1,200 shift hours to restaurant partners.
