Celebrating Global Diversity During COVID-19

Challenge

Though PTC moved almost entirely to a virtual setting during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was still important that we continue to reaffirm the commitment PTC has in fostering an environment where all employees feel a sense of belonging and can come to work as their true authentic self.

Actions

May 21 is World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, a globally recognized day created by the United Nations (U.N.) in 2002 dedicated to bridging the gap between cultures globally. At PTC, we saw an opportunity to celebrate diversity and raise awareness with a week-long celebration.

Some highlights included:

  • An executive point of view around diversity, inclusion, and belonging through a globally broadcast dialogue with our CHRO Jill Larsen.
  • Inclusive storytelling sessions featuring PTC employees from Italy, Germany, China, India, and the United States.
  • Employee Resource Group (ERG) engagement with our global community through ERG-led challenges, information sharing, and informal virtual gatherings.
  • Locally led Lunch and Learn sessions which allowed employees to gather in smaller groups to discuss inclusion and diversity topics.
  • The opportunity for global commitment to I&D through our new PTC For ALL Inclusion & Diversity Pledge
Outcomes

Through our global, multi-level approach, we created an inclusive approach to education and engagement that allowed and encouraged more of our worldwide workforce to engage and take action in ways that were meaningful to them.

Quote

Inclusion and diversity isn’t just for a handful of people, it impacts all of us. It is the responsibility of every individual to understand and commit to creating a better, more inclusive world where everyone belongs.
