Business Innovation Groups (BIGs) Help Associates, Clients, and Communities Reach their Full Potential

Challenge

Our philosophy centers on our commitment to “Do the right thing, do whatever it takes, and have fun.” Jack Henry’s Diversity & Inclusion program embodies this philosophy. Before the recent issues of racial injustice and civil unrest, Jack Henry began a journey to guide our organization towards a more diverse and inclusive workplace.

Actions
  • We expanded our Business Innovation Groups (BIGs) from one – Women at Jack Henry – to five. The BIGs exist to drive innovation, support strategic business objectives, and help address business challenges, all while providing a safe space for people and perspectives to flourish.
  • Prior to the pandemic, we held our inaugural BIGs Summit in Texas where more than 50 associates gathered to serve as BIGs leaders and executive sponsors. Leaders participated in a cultural intelligence workshop and brainstorming sessions to help them be more successful in the coming year.
  • Each BIG is structured like a business unit with a budget that is managed by their leadership team, quarterly reporting on their strategic objectives, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Outcomes
  • Today, Jack Henry has five, very active, associate-led BIGs with a mission to build a culture of diversity and inclusion across our company and within the communities we live and serve: Mosaic of People, PRISM, JHAnyWhere, VETERANS at Jack Henry, and WomenAtJackHenry. Currently, more than 2,000 associates claim membership in at least one of these groups.
  • In response to recent events of systemic racism, the Mosaic BIG led a panel discussion and released a video to help associates feel free to talk about issues of diversity, inclusion and equity: Mosaic Leadership Video.
  • Additionally, BIGs provide ongoing training, host live panel discussions, and collaborate with leadership teams to ensure our work environment provides a safe space for associates to thrive.
