Challenge

As we thought about bolstering our own DEIB program at Protenus, the challenge was, as a
company with less than 100, how can we maximize our impact in our community. Baltimore is over 60%
Black and yet that population isn’t reflected accordingly in high-paying, local tech jobs.

Actions

We’ve recruited over 30 companies to make 5 commitments in service of DEIB.

Outcomes

The commitments are to remove 4-year degree requirements, pay interns, conduct an annual DEIB audit, share qualified, diverse candidates with other companies within the coalition, and to come together to share best practices on a monthly basis.
