Attracting and Retaining Diverse Talent Globally to Tenable and the Cybersecurity Industry

Challenge

We know that having diverse talent is important, particularly in the cybersecurity industry. Yet in 2022, there are over 2.5 million open cybersecurity roles and there is still a representation gap of women and people of color in our industry. We recognize that we must partner strategically with organizations to bring diverse talent into our industry as well as our organization.

Actions

Our DEI strategy focuses on expanding our visibility globally across multiple dimensions of diversity aligned to our three DEI pillars: workforce, workplace and community.

  • Workforce: Expand our recruiting partnerships in the technology space for both entry level and experienced talent.
  • Workplace: Leverage and expand our employee resource groups and provide them with opportunities to be visible at external events.
  • Community: Provide scholarships and educational support to continue building the next generation of STEM talent in diverse communities with a specific focus on cyber security.
Outcomes

We’ve invested more than $500,000 in the last two years to expand our external partnerships from four to over 20. We now provide annually more than 20 scholarships for women and students of color in engineering- and IT-related fields and will continue to do more. We have also expanded our potential pipeline sources through these relationships.
