Amplify a variety of voices, concerns and perspectives from underrepresented groups within the organization.
In 2019, we launched our D&l Council, consisting of teammates from various parts of the business. We established numerous touchpoints around to connect us amid remote work environments. We formed a book/media club where we read, listen or view pieces of media and then discuss difficult topics like bias, racism, sexism and social class. We host fireside chats with organizations or individuals who represent underrepresented groups (Hispanic/Latinx, Black/African American, Asian American, etc.) during respective heritage months. We share content in our break areas that inform and challenge us to think about cultural norms. Our "Colleague Connection" series provides us opportunities to learn more about what makes each of us unique as human beings and not just colleagues, where we are able to share talents like vegan cooking, DJ skills, vision board creation and so much more. In early 2021, we hired a full-time leader for our initiatives to ensure that we keep D&l as a business objective.
We've begun to establish a culture where the expectation is that every voice has value and is able to contribute in a meaningful way. As a result, we have recently worked with teammates who were interested in launching Employee Resource Groups, with three groups currently holding ERG meetings (AMPlify Black Voices, AMPride and VAMOS) and a new group currently forming for our Asian American, Pacific Islander and Desi American population.
