AHLA's Journey

Desire membership and leadership to be more diverse and inclusive.

Created a council and elevated it to a Board level committee, established leader training and outreach receptions, and developed outreach tools and toolkits.

Successfully established annual leadership training, converted all conference networking receptions to "Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion" receptions, and increased leader and speaker diversity.

There is no silver bullet when it comes to strengthening diversity, equity, and inclusion within our Association and the health law community which we serve," comments Mr. Cade. "However, this is one important step to show our commitment to meaningful change and to share best practices across the business community as AHLA leads conversations on racial and other inequities in health care and potential solutions to dismantle barriers.
