CEO Action for Diversity & InclusionTM was founded on a shared belief that diversity, equity and inclusion is a societal issue, not a competitive one, and that collaboration and bold action from the business community — especially CEOs — is vital to driving change at scale.
Sharing best practices around diversity, equity and inclusion is core to CEO Action’s purpose. Building on this commitment to share what works and what doesn’t in our efforts to advance DEI, we’ve launched a cross-coalition Mentoring Initiative for C-suite leaders to come together and accelerate the development of diverse senior leaders through mentoring circles.
Business leaders don’t just need more avenues to discover new diverse talent — they are also looking for more ways to support and retain existing diverse talent. Through this initiative, we have the collective ability to support the development of leaders from our signatory organizations and help them navigate the many factors that play into professional advancement, ultimately driving greater representation at the highest levels of the business community.
"We’re thrilled that more than 100 participants from CEO Action signatory organizations raised their hands to be part of the new CEO Action Mentoring Initiative," said Shannon Schuyler, PwC’s Chief Purpose & Inclusion Officer and CEO Action Co-Lead. "Our goal is to create an invaluable opportunity for diverse leaders from signatory organizations that helps them create natural relationships with C-suite-level mentors and allows them to interact, engage and learn."
CEO Action will launch future Mentoring Initiative cohorts later this year. All of the coalition’s more than 2,000 signatory organizations are encouraged to nominate mentors and mentees. Organizations that are interested in the initiative, but not already part of the coalition, must first join to be considered. For more information, visit ceoaction.com.
CEO Action is the largest business-driven commitment to advance DEI, with more than 2,000 CEOs and university presidents having pledged to make our workplaces more inclusive. The scale and dedication of this community of leaders puts the coalition in a unique position to build a mentorship network within the business community that tangibly impacts the growth and development of diverse leaders on their path to the C-suite.
The program launched in early spring 2022 and includes participants from the following organizations:
