IDSA Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Strategy
IDSA recognizes the opportunity to make concerted efforts to ensure that business practices and priorities reflect the populations we serve.
As part of a comprehensive DI&E strategy for our organization, we have identified several areas as an initial focus to promote our values. Our strategies to advance the areas identified above are designed to promote diversity, inclusion and equity within leadership at all levels of the organization, to include staff and the governance structure.
We have initiated DI&E educational programming for staff and the Board of Directors to raise awareness of the dimensions of diversity, the impact on us as individuals and as an organization. We also employ several recruitment strategies to ensure our career opportunities reach diverse audiences (organizations, networking groups and online communities).
IDSA also has several Board-approved strategic priorities and metrics focused on promoting diversity of practitioners and cultivating a diverse pool of new and exceptional talent within the industry. Lastly, we have prioritized efforts to promote equitable compensation practices within the field of infectious diseases.
Diversity is at the forefront of many of our national conversations. With an evolving employment and global landscape, it is critically important that we prioritize conversations, sustainable frameworks and actions that allow us to elevate our service and lead positive change within a dynamic world.
