How Paramount Global is Responding to Recent Racially-Driven Events

Statement

On June 1, 2020 at 5pm ET, a number of our networks, including our Entertainment & Youth Brands, BET, CBS Sports Network and Nickelodeon, went dark across their platforms for 8 minutes and 46 seconds to honor George Floyd and pay tribute to other victims of racial violence.

On June 02, 2020 we will be joining music and other creative industry leaders in observing Blackout Tuesday – a day to focus our attention away from work and towards our community, as we stand in solidarity with our Black colleagues and loved ones in the U.S. and around the world. We encourage teams to not hold any meetings or conduct regular business, and instead, use this day to reconnect to your community and reflect on what you can do to push for progress. We will follow up tomorrow morning with some suggested activities and additional resources.

These are, of course, only a handful of actions we have planned. Through our Paramount Global Office of Global Inclusion and Employee Resource Groups, brand leadership and partners, we are organizing additional activities and events to amplify the voices of our audiences, talent and employees, educate the public and support our communities that are hurting, which you will hear more about in the coming weeks.
